Hi I’m Terri, and as the owner of Pink Tool Belts I’d love to share our story with you!
Back Then
The Original Pink Tool Belt for women was designed, tested, and created in 2005 by a DIYer herself, Kelly. Kelly flipped houses, landscaped, built things, and was an all-around handy woman who didn’t like wearing the bulky, heavy tool belts made to fit a man’s body.
She wanted a tool belt that would fit her feminine physique; lightweight and comfortable, yet durable and functional. Since there was no such item available at that time, in true DIYer style, Kelly founded Girlgear Industries (now known as Pink Tool Belts) and set out to create one. She designed a prototype and tested it for durability, comfort, and practicality. The feedback she received was positive, and the original women’s Pink Tool Belt was manufactured.

So how do I fit into this picture? My love and passion to serve people led me to Pink Tool Belts. After returning home from a 2007 trip to Kenya where my daughter and I built homes for widowed women and their children, I just knew that I wanted to – and had to – help more women in Kenya. I needed funding to make it happen, and that’s when I came across Girlgear Industries (now known as Pink Tool Belts) for sale on Craigslist. Seeing the quality of the products and the perfect fit with my work in Kenya, I purchased the company from Kelly.
Coming from a construction background and working with my grandfather, father, and brother who are all contractors, I felt it was serendipitous to find this business that produced quality construction tools and accessories for women. Originally providing products to women in the construction industry, now working women across all trades – DYIers, gardeners, equestrians, crafters, hair stylists, and makeup artists – have discovered Pink Tool Belts!
Every Day…your purchase makes a difference!
With each purchase of Pink Tool Belts products, a portion of the profits is donated to build more homes for women in Kenya or to support breast cancer awareness and research (through sales of our Pink Ribbon Tool Belt).
Our mission will always stand true: to provide positive, lasting, and feel-good experiences by offering quality products and uncompromising customer service, empowering women and giving them resources to achieve their goals.
Thanks for your support,
Terri
